Get Your Tiger Suit On

I had the pleasure to review KT Tunstall's new album, Tiger Suit.  Maybe you never heard of her?  Oh but I know you have.  She's the Grammy nominated artist from Scotland and really hit it big here with "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" and one of my favorites (thanks to The Devil Wears Prada), "Suddenly I See".

Tiger Suit is filled with a wide range of beats, strong lyrics and her raspy sultry voice. The first song, "Uummannaq Song" is hilarious.  Not the lyrics or anything.  And not KT, I wouldn't laugh at her.  But what this song makes me do (think puppet on a string bouncing and bopping).  I definitely want it playing as my alarm goes off.  It'll really get you up and going in a good mood.  Then there's "Still a Weirdo".  The beat goes slow and her melodies are soft and flow really nicely.  Play it in your car while your kids are touching each other, hungry, whiny or kicking your seat and you won't even realize they're in the car.  The song "Push that Knot Away" has a great guitar plucking sound, is rock and pop mixed up and very fast paced so if you have 5 minutes to clean before your MIL comes over, this will help you make that happen.  Can you tell I use music as a soundtrack for whatever I'm doing at any given moment?  Go here to watch her video for the first single "Fade Like a Shadow" which is already a top 20 on the radio.  And might I add that I made Nip listen to it while he was in my car and HE even liked a song, "Lost".  This is definitely a woman's album, be it college woman or run-around-mom.

KT is going on tour soon.  I think this would be a very fun Girls Night Out!

I don't like how some stations only play one or two songs per album and Tiger Suit has some very different must-hear songs so go out and get your own album or go here to buy it on the cheap.  Throw an extra something in your cart and you can get free shipping.  Bonus!

I received this cd at no charge to review.  As always, all opinions are (abundant and) my very own.  By posting I am entered into a random drawing for a $50 gift card from One2One Network.
